Mail-art is a network of people exchanging art through
the mail. Mail-art makes direct communication through art potentially
available to anyone.
Mail Art Calls
A mail-art call is an invitation for mail-artists to
submit work based on a theme chosen by the originator of the call.
Usually, the participants receive documentation which can be as
simple as a list of participants or as elaborate as a full-color
"catalog." Sometimes, the art received is exhibited
at a gallery or other viewing space. In 2000, I put out the following
mail-art call:
Theme: Illustrate the idea ''Nothing is True; Everything
is Permitted.''
Any medium - any size - Deadline: December 31, 2001

NEW MYTHOLOGIES
At the beginning of the new millenium,
the old mythologies are dying and new ones are waiting to be born.
The artist, with his/her direct pipeline to the collective unconscious,
is the harbinger of new mythologies. Illustrate your conception
of a new mythology. Any size, any medium. Deadline June, 2005.
